Somatic field forecast : Jan 12 - 17 2026

Upper Midwest area

This is a nervous-system weather note integrating the oceans, Great Lakes, and local sky into how your body might feel this week.

  • Global Oceans: Strong contrast = ongoing waves/storm pulses

  • Great Lakes: Ice backing off = more moisture to feed those waves

  • Body Forecast: Emotional + physical weather can flip quickly

Weekly prediction of thaw-edge tenderness, midweek moisture pulse, and backside chill + reframe.

Ocean Field - Global Water Mood

What the oceans are doing.

  • Equatorial Pacific Band: cool Pacific strip strong

  • North Pacific: warm anomalies, fuel ON

  • North Atlantic: warm anomalies, fuel ON

  • Storm Nurseries: North Pacific + North Atlantic with Southern Hemisphere charged

Nothing has "shut down". If anything, the contrast is clearer this week. Cool equator = spine/boundary. While warm belts to the north/south = emotional and weather storms. Sensitive bodies can have days that feel very still, cold, and structured. Then days with swirl, overstimulations, or emotional weather. But quick resets occur.

This is not random; it's your body tracking a high contrast Water-Field. A cool ocean spine centering the planet while warm rings around it keep stirring storms and feelings.

Most of the globe is still yellow/orange with oceans running warmer than "normal". So the atmosphere is still well-fueled. Nothing has calmed down yet. That blue band along the equator in the Pacific is still there and a bit sharper than last week. That's your cool equatorial "spine" strengthening. Stronger contrast between cool equator and warm subtropics/midlatitudes causes wavier jet-stream, more on/off pattern flips. Big orange/red patch from Japan across the N. Pacific into the guod of Alaska is still lit up. this is the North Pacific storm factory ON. Lows spinning off there and tracking towards North America still have extra "fuel" (heat + moisture). This supports us in the Upper Midwest with repeated clippers/waves every few days rather than a dead quiet stretch. energetically no long "sleep mode" yet; it's pulse... pause... pulse.... Warm anomalies hug the U.S. East Coast up toward Europe/UK. That's the North Atlantic conveyor still hot, feeding big systems there too. Collectively both Northern storm cauldrons are still simmering. You can see warm red "hearts" in the South Pacific and South Atlantic with blue streaks. Think of them as deep, slow underworld cauldrons. Not your day-to-day weather, but they keep the global Water-Field charged.

Great Lakes Field

Lakes as the Local Amplifier

Image via NOAA
Image via NOAA

Great Lakes total ice cover : 7.1% (down from last week + re-opening)

Some of the new ice has broken up or melted. The "heart with a shell" we talked about last week has softened/cracked a bit.

Most of the Lakes are in light blues which means surface water is right at freezing.

The lakes are saying Okay, I tried to freeze, but the pattern is still too dynamic. I'm going back to breathing more freely.

More open water again = more moisture and cloud potential over the Upper Midwest. We are not in deep-winter lockup yet; the water-field is still mobile and expressive.

MOST IMPORTANT!!! The direction of the wind is a factor that determines if the Great Lakes air goes towards you (especially Lake Superior side).

NW / N winds versus W / SW winds give different influences and planning.

Expect another week where emotional + body weather can flip quickly. From days of clear, cold focus to days of damp ache/ tenderness/ foggy and resetting again.

Local Sky & Pressure

St.Croix / Twin Citites area

This week repeats last week but with less ice so more local moisture and clouds. Last week showed lots of temps near freezing, high humidity, and mostly overcast with light snow/drizzle. Last week the body swung between "okay energy" and "heavy + achey".

This week repeats last week, but a bit wetter and more emotional.

Somatic Field Forecast

How this week May Feel In Your Body

Using last weeks pattern and a still-warm global water field this weeks fuel ON oceans, and local Great Lakes Moisture ON we can "predict" the feel of this week in 3 phases.

Local Pattern Prediction

  • Thaw - Edge Tenderness

  • Midweek Moisture Pulse

  • Backside Chill + Reframe

REMINDER-These are only predictions not actual results or factual. For daily updates check out Earthseed Circle on Patreon for data comparison and community chat.

Phase 1: Thaw - Edge tenderness (possibly Monday)

Forecast shape: Temps again hovering near freezing. High humidity, lots of clouds (OVC/BKN vibes). Pressure neither super high nor super low. Not dead calm, nor extream.

What that usually feels like:

  • Sacral & Heart: more feeling, nostalgia, and tired tenderness.

  • Bones/joints: dull ache from damp cold rather than shart Arctic pain.

  • Mood can feel: "i'm okay, but could cry at any moment" or low motivation, wanting cozy caves.

  • How to use it:

  • Good for: light plans, no massive social loads. Gentle admi, journaling, and tidying altars

  • Supports: Nutrient-dense warm food + hydration to help your system not slip into swampy fatigue.

Phase 2: Midweek Moisture Pulse (possibly Tuesday-Thursday)

Forecast shape: With the global "rings of fire" still lit and our Lakes breathing more, expect a small storm/pulse window midweek. A shallow low or clipper that is more definite snow/flurries or mixed precip and pressure dips. Wind shifting and picking up a bit. Sky more solid gray, maybe fog/drizzle at times.

What that usually feels like:

  • Nervous System: more easily overwhelmed; sensory load and noise hit harder.

  • Head/Third Eye: pressure, heaviness, or fog; vivid dreams

  • Chest/Heart: more weepy, anxious, or raw; past year themes can resurface

  • Chronic Pain/Flares possible as pressure drops + damp increases

    How to use it:

  • Good for: comforting the body, moving through one task at a time

  • Don not judge productivity; measure success by -Did I comfort my body? - Did I move at least one small thing forward?

  • Supports: Short water rituals/routines (bath, shower blessing, foot/hand soak). 5-10 min grief or gratitude writing. Leaning on soft clothes, warm blankets, and low lighting.

Phase 3: Backside Chill + Reframe (possibly Fri-sat)

Forecast shape: Behind that pulse, a new or rebuilt high likely noses back in. Field is codler, somewhat drier air; perhaps a bit clearer sky or higher clouds. Winds easing or turning more NW/NNW. Less active precip; more "crisp" feel.

Feel:

  • Root + Solar Plexus : more stable; easier to plan/organize.

  • Emotional volume settles from "full orchestra" to "solo instrument".

  • You might still be tired from the week, but clarity returns

  • Realization of "Okay! Now I can see what needs to happen".

How to plan:

  • Great for integration

    • Set next week's 2-3 anchors

    • Review notes/journal from this weeks emotions

    • Pick one realistic wellness / work focus for the coming week

Your own way to work with these phases is to ask yourself "Is today in the aftershock, swirl, reset phases?" or check out the Earthseed Circle and get daily updates on which phase is actually coming through. Below is a free Daily Field Scan of this Sunrise findings. Earthseed Circle members receive all Daily Field Scans (Sunrise/Afternoon/Evening Comparison).

I track these for my own personal energetic and nervous-system integration as well as for my clients who are sensitive to the frequencies on and around our planet.

If you are in the Upper Midwest region, notice how your body responds this week as the pressure rises and falls, the clouds drop and lift. You are welcome to share your own Field Scans with me or join on Patreon where post my personal daily scans, ritual, and printables.
